Ewell is survived by his wife Wilma and their two children. Their daughter is a nurse manager at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana.  His son is a salesman at Lamar Ford in Bunkie.  Ewell was a house painter.

Ewell was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  His children and grandchildren were the center of his life.  He was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments and he loved spending time with them.  His family loved to tease him because he was so punctual - you could set your watch by him.
