Professional achievements:
Worked at Terrebonne Parish Library operating a bookmobile
until retirement.
Following high school we moved from
Bunkie to Houma, then later on to New Orleans. These moves
were dictated by my husband’s employment.
Spouse: Gerald Lyons
Spouse’s career interest:
Manager of oilfield equipment and service company. We met
while we were both working in Houma
Name of parents: Ivy and Helen
Belanger. My mother was a homemaker and my father worked
for a farm equipment company. Both are deceased.
Personal information: We have
two children and one grandchild. One daughter and one son
who is deceased. Our daughter currently lives in Houma.
Leisure activities: Gardening
and reading
Major events after Bunkie High
School: Meeting and marrying my husband were turning
points in my life. We have reached the point where family
takes precedence over any other event, which is a real joy.
Recollections of Bunkie High
School: The closeness of our classmates made for a
comfortable and happy time.
Hopes for the future: being a
huge part of our grandson’s life and seeing him succeed in
realizing his aspirations. I also pray that God continues
to bless our country.
We do not have any big plans for the
future.
I would just like to say how great the
reunion was. What a pleasure it was to be together once
again, and enjoy the company of those you care about.
