BA from ULL, MBA from Georgia State U
Career: Enlisted in the U. S.
Army, 7-12-58 to 7-11-61. Served in Army Air Defense
Command (Nike Hercules). All clerical duties, first in a
missile battery in Detroit, then in Battalion HQ in
Dallas-Forth Worth.
Following my discharge I worked for
Equifax, Manager Trainee in Houston, then Manager in
Jacksonville, Florida. Transferred to Home Office, Atlanta,
Ga. as Operations Manager of their Market Research
Division. I left to work for Financial Service Corp. and
eventually wound up with Dun & Bradstreet as salesman in
Atlanta and Branch Manager in Greenville, SC. I transferred
to Baton Rouge, then left to work for the Louisiana
Independent College Fund as Executive Director. Last worked
for Most Blessed Sacrament Church as Director of
Development, and later, Business Manager. Retired July 1,
2003.
Spouse: Edith Emmons from
Kilgore, Texas. We met in Dallas while I was in the
service. She is now collections person for a copier
company. Main interests are grandchildren, cooking and
sewing.
We have five children, all
married and living in Baton Rouge. Nine grandchildren.
Hobbies and Future Plans:
Working on a family tree and a model railroad. Enjoy
carpentry and computer games. Thinking of a vacation to the
Grand Canyon, but no other long range plans.
