Career history: I have been a nurse for the last 35
years; After moving to Dallas in 1964, I decided to go to
nursing school at El Centro College. I worked at the local
hospital, then went to work for a Family Practice for 20
years.
Personal Information
Children 4 (two boys, two girls)
grandchildren (8) 5 boys and 3girls, 1 great grand daughter.
All now living in the Dallas area. I
have a sister living in Bunkie, which gives me the
opportunity to travel to Louisiana periodically.
I am no longer working. My time is
spent traveling, working out and working with homeless
children, volunteering at my church and, just enjoying life.
Spouse: Windell Moore, who is
still involved in printing equipment business. It gives me
an opportunity to travel with him. I also do some
bookkeeping for his business.
My first husband was Bobby McDonald
from Evergreen, Louisiana. We met at a softball game and we
were married for 42 years. He worked as an Engineer for
Texas Instruments for 30 years. We built a lake house in
1990, and moved there. He died about five years after
retirement. His work gave us a chance to do some travel,
and we lived in Oregon, and California as the result of
transfers.
Accomplishments of which I am
proud: My children and family
What are some of the things you
recall about BHS in the fifties? I had great fun, my
classes were good and I remember we had a lot of cut-ups in
our classes.
Please share with us a summary of
your last fifty years: It’s hard to compile 50 yrs. on
paper, but I have lived a full, good life, nothing
world-shaking, but a great, fulfilled life.
My future plans are to continue my
traveling, spending time with my family and friends.
No big plans that I expect will
change my life. I consider myself very fortunate. I
have had a good life, nothing world-shaking, but a good
life. When you stop and reflect on that conclusion, it’s a
wonderful place to be.
I am sorry I missed the reunion. I
would sincerely love to see all of you again.
