Major Events after BHS: Getting
married and raising 5 children who are doing well and have
become community leaders.
Recollections of BHS: Lots of
fun. Loved athletics, especially football, and playing in
the band. Enjoyed having very good friends at BHS. I had a
high regard for the teachers. Mrs. Hatley was a very good
teacher.
After BHS: I went to college
then I went to work with Dow Chemical Company. Early in my
tenure with Dow, I was drafted. I went through boot camp,
then I got a letter informing me that my work had received a
classification of “Critical Skills,” so was I was released
to go back to my work, and to serve out my time in the
Inactive reserves. I received various promotions and was
finally promoted to setting up laboratories throughout Dow
as well as training employees to perform the work in them.
I ended my career at Dow in Research and Development and
retired in 1992. After retirement I started a consulting
company for Dow and worked in it for the next 8
years.
Hopes for the Future: To
continue to make friends and enjoy life.
I have a very close family,
which is one of my many blessings. We are together at all
holiday events. I am looking forward to all BHS reunions.
I love and miss ya’ll a lot.
