My recollections of BHS:
Important relationships with Anne and my friends. I wish I
had applied myself. I also would have liked participation in
every organization and activity. Under those conditions, the
balance would have been one of more growth and proficiency.
The last fifty years: We raised
3 children and helped raise a niece. By early education and
original profession I attended SLI, graduated in 1959, and
became an Architectural Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor. I
also completed diaconal studies at Father Palomo Seminary
and was ordained in 1973. I served as a Deacon Pastoral
Assistant in multiple parishes. I was Adjunct Professor at
Catholic University, and the Civil Engineer Corps Officers
School. I retired after 35 year as a Senior Executive and
served as Chief Construction Engineer for the U.S. Navy and
Deputy Manager, Manager and Director of the U.S. Strategic
Petroleum Reserve. I am a graduate of the Catholic
University Executive Management Program and Harvard
University's John F. Kennedy School of Government National
and International Security Program. My degrees include a
Pontifical Catechetical Diploma, Bachelor of Science, Master
of Science, Master of Management, Master of Arts in
Theology, and Doctor of Ministry (Pastoral Psychology).
Since my retirement from federal service I have served as
the Minister of Christian Education and Pastoral Assistant
at St. Louis Parish in Alexandria, VA. I am presently
serving as an intern Assistant Chaplain in Clinical Pastoral
Education at the Falls Church, VA. Goodwin House Retirement
Community.
Hopes for the Future: I
hope to serve as Chaplain in a retirement community,
hospital or other institution and in community activities. I
also hope to spend the other part of my time with my wife in
pursuit of our interests stated above. At some point we may
make the decision to move back to Bunkie to live in the old
house of Anne’s grandfather.
I really appreciate and thank
every classmate for being truly who they were during such a
critical and formative period of our lives.
