Spouse:  Willie Mae      met on a blind date in Ball, Louisiana.  This was just before we moved back to Bunkie.  She was a homemaker and raised four sons, while I traveled for work.

Career history:  From bee keeping, when I got married to a being a carpenter, then into oilfield related businesses for about 45 years.

Education: no college, but a lot of hands-on and self-taught.

Achievements: worldwide service manager for Stevenson Oilfield Division Houston, Texas.  In 80-81, owned a repair business, then went to work for Diamond Offshore as a sub-sea engineer.

Name of parents:  Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sandifer.  My father was in the oilfield business.

Personal interests: hunting, fishing, and travel in the USA.

Personal information:

Children four grandchildren nine            Comments: have four step grandchildren.

I'm not currently working                      Current activities: the same as above.

Leisure activities:  Helping oldest son with ranching and travel.

Major events after BHS: having a good life with few difficulties and very little sickness.  No problems with four boys growing up, three sons were in nuke submarines.

Accomplishments:         Being a husband to my wife, father to four sons, and grandfather to nine grandchildren and great-grandfather to five.

Things I recall about BHS: I just recall being in a class of some very great people.

A summary of the last 50 years: Got married in 54, we had four sons by 61.  Went to work in the oilfields on drilling rigs (offshore), was on semi-submersible drilling rig.  I have worked all over the world (almost).  We moved to Idaho because my oldest son was associated with a Navy project, which had a prototype nuclear submarine in Idaho.  He encouraged us to move there, which we did in 1994.  We had our 50th wedding anniversary.  Have 5 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way.  We have lived up and down the West Coast (Cal, Oregon).    Just had triple bypass surgery on Aug 04, and I am doing fine.  We try to go to Louisiana twice a year to see my mother who is now 93.

Hopes for the future: just enjoy family and friends and hope everyone else can do the same.

Pertinent information:  Have started raising red Angus cows with my oldest son last year, which is more or less a hobby for me.  Just interesting.
